Medicine Man Revival
Medicine Man Revival
Medicine Man Revival's sound is best described as a soulful futuristic blend of gospel, R&B, and hip-hop. The raw vocal power of Keite Young and the grimey, thick, production style of Jason Burt come together to form a truly unique and engaging experience. Backed by some of the best musicians in Dallas, the duo form their own sound that brings people to their feet and energizes any size venue.

There is a connection between the roots and the future. An air. Filled with music. A beautiful collision between time. Love and life. The core of Kalu is here. In that, a fervent adventure into the willingness of soul and mind. Deep blue laden transmission of music steeped in passion and relevance.
Born in Nigeria, Kalu James moved to the United States at the age of 18 and although he had sung in the choir since age 9, it wasn't until he moved far from home to New York State in 2001 to study computer technology that he discovered his gift for songwriting.

With a blend of Blues-Rock, Soul and African folk rhythm, Kalu James brings to the table emotive, genuine lyrics with his remarkably unique and unforgettable style of vocal delivery.

Critics have said it best: “Kalu James has nicely blended the sounds of acoustic, folk, and soul into a nice melodious tune”;

With a very successful Kickstarter campaign geared toward the recording and release of his upcoming double Album (funded by his social media audience), 3 albums with rave reviews, and a day (June 11th) named after him in the "Live Music Capital of the World" Austin, Texas, his path burns brighter.

To understand and experience Kalu’s passion is to see him live where his spirit truly shines. Kalu and his band evoke infectious tunes that will have your mind thinking, lis singing, and foot tapping days after the show.

"This is music firmly rooted in American soil, even while collectively the band explores newer frontiers of folk, rock and roll, and country"
